I am so excited to share our new event with you…“Tastes From Around The World”! It will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 – 6 PM to 10 PM at the Eau Gallie Civic Center located in Melbourne Florida!
Yes, we have stepped way outside the box! We have some amazing restaurants that have stepped up to provide food for all of our guests! The Dove- Italian, Dijon’s – French, Nomad Café -Turkish, Harbor City Diner – Greek, Taste Of India – Indian, Danny Q BBQ – American, Island Fish Grill – Island flavor, El Chico – Mexican, and the Cottage Irish Pub -Irish! Our table host dessert party will be hosted once again by Yellow Dog Cafe…with one small change, it will be held in our new community building at our Nana’s House gated community! We also have an amazing decorating and dessert team in place! I am working on getting local clubs involved as well to help with decorating the different “country” food areas and serving food! Attendees will receive their program “passports” that will entitle them to visit each “country tasting”! We are expecting to have approximately 400 people! We are shaking things up quite a bit! At this event, guests will have the opportunity to give a gift from the heart after a short presentation about Nana’s House and an appeal! (no ticket cost, like our previous Fall Fundraising Banquet)
This event will replace our annual fall banquet, our annual semi-formal dinner dance and silent auction, and our old 5-K Family Fun Day from a few years ago! This fundraiser is an effort to consolidate our three events into one large annual grand event! This is all new so we will see how it goes! Tastes From Around the World will be a very unique, interactive event and a lot of fun! We are hoping and praying that this event will bring in the same or more income than our two events combined!
As you know we do not receive any state funding and this is our main event of the year! My goal is to complete all of the planning and secure everything for this event by mid-November because once the holidays start, Nana’s House is extremely busy with the children until the first of the year and then there would not be enough time to plan such a grand evening! I look forward to partnering with each of you on this new event!
Instead of a silent auction, we are trying to secure six amazing grand prizes for our event! So far, Sullivan’s Jewelers has donated a beautiful jewelry set valued at $1000, Leisa Munce has donated a three night stay at her chalet in the North Carolina Smoky Mountains, Frog Bones has donated a shooting party and dinner for 20 people, Giant Recreation World has donated a one week RV rental, Total Wine has donated a wine tasting party for 20 people values at $500.00. I would love to have a cruise for two and date night packages etc. as well! Can anyone help us accomplish this?
We will still be having our exciting Diamond Moment, our famous dessert table, a photo op and music by DJ Rick from Florida’s Best DJ, just like past Dinner Dance events. This event involves an appeal and table hosts, just like out past Fall Fundraising Banquets, but the new twist is that Table Hosts who raise the most money for the evening will be eligible for the Grand Prizes along with individuals who raise the most pledge amounts! (This is where our old 5K event comes in!) See how unique and different this event is going to be???? In addition to all this, we are adding beer and wine tastings from around the world, too!
At this point, we have secured our amazing restaurants, and now we are working on securing more sponsors, (the deadline has been extended to Nov. 20), dance exhibition volunteers, table hosts and prizes for the event!
Please contact me as soon as possible if you are interested in hosting a table! (just involves attending the dessert party in Jan., inviting 9 others to sit at your table and collecting pledges after the appeal!) WE NEED 18 more TABLE HOSTS for our quota!
